BUDDING Afro-Dancehall performer Abigail Ayizah popularly known as Abbi Ima has every reason to blow her trumpet over her noble achievements this year.
Since last year, the Bono East artiste has been pushing her works and that is really paying off now.
Abbi Ima was nominated in the Next Rated Act, Bono East Region and Emerging Woman at 3Music Awards this year.
Though she lost out in the Emerging Woman of the Year award, she is hopeful of replacing the loss after getting another nod in the Emerging Artiste of the Year at the upcoming Ghana Music Awards UK, planned for Friday, August 19.
Abbi Ima is in a tough contest with the likes of Khaypro, Casmel, Fad Lan, King Maaga, L’bee Prince, Foto Copy, Goddy Wan, Sinam, Chief One.
The Give Me Love singer is certain that her nomination in two well recognised award schemes is a feather in her cap particularly after a poll conducted early this year by radio presenter, MC Congo on social media, adjudged her as the favourite artiste from Bono East.
She told Graphic Showbiz that even though she has been touting her new feats, she acknowledges her achievements come with new challenges and prospects to conquer.
As such, her management team is persistent in getting her to work with prominent artistes to push her brand to new heights.
“It seems the saying that the industry is hostile to female acts has become a cliché but that is the reality and challenge up and coming female acts are going through. And that is why the successes in the face of stiff competition from the pool of male artistes means a lot to me,” she said.
Abbi Ima has gained recognition for songs such as African Girl, Only You, Zanziba, Fakers, Bronya and the latest Give Me Love featuring Fancy Gadam and produced by Ekay.
The artiste who won the Song of the Year at Brong Ahafo Music Awards (BAMA) in 2020 has performed with the likes of Kuami Eugene, KiDi, Ofori Amponsah and Kojo Antwi.
