He has been working hard after the split of Wutah, and Kobby believes he is making the right choices to remain relevant on the music scene.
And one such choice is the creation of his own genre of music which he calls Afro Country Music. According to Kobby, Afro Music is a fusion of Afro rhythm and reggae, ragga, Afrobeat with Country Music.
The Ambulance singer told Showbiz on Monday that this kind of music is to give his fans the opportunity to enjoy him more.
“It’s important that as an artiste, I am creative and live up to the expectation of those who adore and appreciate my talent. This new genre of music is to help me explore new areas and make good use of my God-given talent,” he stated.
The new inspiration, he said, has been the brain behind his new song titled, Warning, which was released on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Monday.
Produced by Cash 2, the song, delivered in a slow tempo vein, touches on ungrateful friends and how some people by virtue of their status in society, look down on others.
Kobby talks about how some people love to show off despite lacking the material things they boast off.
Kobby and his former group mate, Afriyie, had an altercation few weeks ago after which the former wrote a song, A Letter To Afriyie, but it seems the public display of apology was just a farce.
This is because, the lyrics of Warning cast insinuations at someone and the rumour mill is rife with suggestions he might be talking about Afriyie but when Showbiz asked Kobby about it, this is what he had to say. “I never mentioned his name and I don’t know why anyone would think that I’m referring to him.
“I’m a musician and writer and as such, many issues in society appeal to me to highlight in my songs and this time, this is what I think is worth preaching about to my audience,” he said.
Wutah Kobby released his debut solo album, God And Love, which had songs such as Tsotsoo, Chiochio, Ambulance, Pii Por Pii, Father For All, Love Of My Life and Burning Desire.
