Winneba Youth Choir set to thrill at Choralfest

Many regard them as the most popular and also among the most skillful choirs in this country at the moment but to the current crop of singers in the Winneba Youth Choir, the mission is simply to raise high the name of the Lord through song.

That’s exactly what they will be doing when they participate in this year’s MTN Choralfest programme on Easter Sunday, April 20 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Founded in the early part of  1989, the widely-travelled choir has performed alongside prominent names in music like Rebecca Malope, Ron Kenoly, Hugh Masekela and Stevie Wonder.

The choir  has appeared on countless times at major functions in this country and would definitely take things in their stride as they perform at Choralfest.

Other choirs set to pitch their strength against the Winneba Youth Choir are the M Harmonius Chorale, Dansoman Youth Choir, Olivet Voices and Praise Choir.

Solo singers like Ceccy Twum, Cecilia Marfo, Boadiwaa, OJ, Ernest Opoku, Kay Bee from  MTN Hitmaker II and Miriam from MTN Hit maker I will also perform.

The story of salvation will be performed by the National Dance Company at the event which is being supported by Pepsi.
