Under the theme, The Role of Ga Dangme in Securing Peaceful Elections, the 6 pm concert slated for Saturday, November 26, at the main lorry station in Tema New Town is expected to “trumpet” the call for peace at the upcoming elections while giving patrons the opportunity to jam as well.

And artistes billed to delight patrons at the concert are Red Eye of 2 Toff fame, Masaany, Addi Pundit, Keyxo, Krachy, Potent Element and Kedi.

From the Gospel side is Nii Blessing, Minister Amartey, Minister Ferguson, Theo Bless, Uncle Alfredo Psalmist Dici among many others who are poised to preach the message of peace through their songs.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz about the upcoming concert, Masaany entreated Ghanaians to appreciate the essence of peace and eschew violence at this year’s elections.

“As artistes, we can only use our status and platform to spread the message of peace. Well, some may not appreciate its value but if one has experienced the hell political violence has caused in other African countries, we would appreciate the ‘heaven in Ghana’”, he stated.

The chairman of Ga-Dangme Youth, said music “heals the soul” and hopes to use music to send the right message to people.

“Even though the concert is being held in Tema, we are expecting patrons from outside Tema and its environs because peace is an essential tool we all crave for,” he stated.

Apart from peace concert, he also noted there will be a peace march on Friday, December 2, which will have all political parties in attendance as a “sign of unity”.
