After a three-year ‘apprenticeship’ studying the Gospel music scene, Sophia Asiedua has ‘graduated’ and is ready to release her maiden album, Nea W’aye.
The album, which will be launched on Sunday, September 24 at the Church Of Pentecost, Exhibition Assembly, Dansoman has seven tracks which are a mix of worship and mid-tempo tunes.
“I love this album because it has everything that I have worked on since I started music. I’m convinced that it will make an impact and people will love it,” she told Showbiz.
Sophia Asiedua a said it will be very difficult for her not to use her voice to tell the world about how wonderful God has been to her.
“My soul will not be at rest if I do not testify about His goodness. There are several ways to do that but for me I want to use the voice He has given me,” she said.
“As we all know, we tell stories through music and the songs on the album I believe will heal someone’s pain. One thing I know for sure is that words in songs work,” she added.
She said she will trust God to help her break through in the industry. “I did not know three years ago that I could put words together to make an album not to talk of launching it but here I am today. I know God has great plans for me and in due time, it will manifest.
“It doesn’t mean I will sit idle and not work, I will put in my all so that when God decides to shine His face on me, I will be prepared. There’s no rush at all.”
Speaking about what people should expect at the album launch, Sophia said “We are talking about practical worship, praise and thanksgiving, where you worship till all inhibitions are removed.
“It will be a great experience, we are going to fortify our spirits with the Holy Ghost and our lives are going to change for the better.”
She will be supported by leaders in her industry like Gifty Osei, Lady Kess, DSP Kofi Sarpong, Piesie Esther and Ohemaa Mercy.
“I want my pioneers to come support and bless the start of my journey. These are people who have been in the industry and are best positioned to direct me.
“They will perform and we all can attest to what these people are capable of doing when they mount the stage,” Sophia said.a
