Odu Zegidon arrives with ‘E go happen’

Not many artistes would love to talk about the struggles and challenges they encounter in their quest to hit mainstream music. But for up and coming Tema based hiplife artiste, Odu Zegidon, it is important for one to tell his or her story to encourage others.

And his story is what he has summed up in his new single, E go happen, which features Nigeria’s sensational artistes P.Square.

Recorded by Mix Master Garzy in Tema, E go happen, which has a hiplife tune talks about how perseverance and determination have always been important ingredients in one’s success.

The song which has P.Square sing the chorus also entreats people to hold on to their faith for better days ahead in spite of the challenges that may seem a hindrance to their progress today.

Odu Zegidon said even though he started underground music with the likes of some of the popular Tema based artistes like Sarkodie, Stay Jay and D.Cryme, he got the inspiration to compose such music because he had to struggle to make headway in the industry.

In this interview with Showbiz, he recounted how after several failed attempts to reach the limelight following his release of many mixtapes which didn’t make any impact, he almost gave up the passion of pursuing his music career but had to brace himself for all the odds that were against him at the time.

“Now, I am glad that I pursued my dream and on my first official single, I featured one of Africa’s best acts, P.Square, in my song. They have a similar story as mine and their success in the industry has always been an inspiration because I know how difficult it was for them at the beginning.

“Today, they are celebrated worldwide and so I know that my story will not be different. E go happen, tells it all just like P.Square. I will not give up but work hard so that in future, I will also be hailed and celebrated for my talent” he stated.

Born to Ghanaian and Nigerian parents, Odu Zegidon, whose real name is Daniel Odu Orji, said he used the opportunity as an ‘undergraduate’ artiste to study the ‘tactics’ of the game and is sure that this new single will accord him the needed public acceptance he has been craving for.

E go happen will officially be released next month.
