The new executives are Mr Richard Abagna (Regional Chairman), Mr Douglas Abalene (Vice Chairman), Mr Joseph Azure (Secretary), Mr.Michael Akonea (Organiser) and Madam Elizabeth Adingoom ( Treasurer).

Addressing the members, the National Welfare Officer of MUSIGA, Mr.Ben Kolan emphasised the need for musicians in all parts of the region to come together and compose songs to ensure peaceful elections.

He noted that by doing so, the musicians would be contributing meaningfully towards securing a brighter future for the youth and generations yet unborn.

"It is imperative for you as musicians to build a good future for the youth and not a bad one because the future belongs to the youth"Mr.Kolan pointed out.

The officer also entreated musicians to register as members of the MUSIGA stressing that, "our major problem is that we do not want to register with the union and so if you are a musician in Ghana, it will be difficult for you to prove to any one that you are a musician".

According to him, registering as a member of MUSIGA could help the musician to fight against piracy which had become the order of the day.

The new executives pledged to help improve on the fortunes of the music industry in the Upper East Region.
