Music is a game, select your tactics - Tiisha
She has been in the industry for just about a year, but one of the notable things singer Tiisha has become known for is how sensual she is - in what she wears and her posts on social media.
Tiisha recently got people talking after a video of her twerking to her new song True Mood went viral. In the video, she wore a black dress with a slit on one side which was so high that it nearly showed her private parts.
While she may have gotten disapproval from some people, Tiisha remains unperturbed, saying doing music is a game and everyone should find the tactics that work for him or her.
“One thing people should know is that doing music is a game, it’s an act, it’s business and you should find what works for you and go with it. There is nothing wrong with me using sensuality when the need arises and if that is what will work for me.
“I mean look at the songs I have to my name, 6:30 had nothing sensual, so there was no need using ‘sex’ to sell it, same applies to Goodness. So if True Mood needs that look, why not? Let us also not forget that we are actors too and at any point in time, we can play any role.
“Once you understand that music is a business and you need strategies to push through any time you bring a song out, you will get there. Honestly, it is something that is working for me and I will advise that as artistes, we don’t use the same strategy for all the songs we bring out, our fans will get bored,” she told Graphic Showbiz.
Sharing her thoughts on the music industry, Tiisha said there was still room for improvement. “So far, I can say we are doing well but we need to do more. There are lots of people with potential but the support is not there.
“Getting the right place to market their talents is also another challenge; we need that force to hold one another so we can all get to the top, there is enough space for all of us,” she noted.
About her journey so far, she said, “So far, my growth has been amazing. I am not there yet but the love has been amazing. My current song, True Mood, is doing well and the views on YouTube are great as well.”
Describing who she really was behind the sexiness, Tiisha said, “I am very calm, intelligent and cute. I love to keep to myself.”
