Here comes Osofobaa Gloria
It has taken her a while to get this far in her quest to tell the gospel of Jesus Christ through music but Osofobaa Gloria Aidoo, who is an Assistant Inspector with the Ghana Immigration Service, is still grateful to God that she has eventually come out with her eight-track Ewurade Da Wo Ho Adi (Lord Reveal Yourself) album.

To her, this maiden collection of songs is just to send word out to everyone that she is on her way to becoming a top-notch gospel act in this country despite the challenges she has had to endure.
Osofobaa, who is also a pastor with the Jesus Generation Church branch at Tema, relied on personal experiences with family and God to compose the songs on the album which are rendered in Twi and English and were recorded in Kumasi by George Forest.
The songs have been given reggae, highlife and slow worship treatments. The album opens with Ebusua Mu Atantandee and it reveals the smooth voice of the singer. Here, she reassures Christians not to be afraid or panic in times of calamity because “Jesus is our hope and saviour so no weapon formed against us shall prosper.”
The album’s title track Ewurade Da Wo Ho Adi is given a highlife treatment as well as a slow worship version for audiences with a liking for that kind of song. In the piece, she asks believers to always allow God to intercede on their behalf.
Other equally meaningful songs on the album are Ebeko So, Onyame Wo Mafa,Ye Wo Kamafo, Aseda and Great Leader.
According to Osofobaa Gloria, she got involved with music about 26 years ago but had not made the sort of progress she envisioned due to lack of funds.
“I had to sell my car to raise money to promote this album because there was no executive producer to help even though I know I have a good product,” she told Showbiz.
The journey into the world of music, Osofobaa Gloria says, has not been easy though her mother and husband have been extremely supportive.
“I thank God for how far He has brought me. The inspiration for this album actually comes from my own life experiences and I’m not ashamed to say that because God has been very good to me,” Osofobaa Gloria said with pride.
On the whole, Osofobaa demonstrates that she has a powerful, attention-catching voice. No wonder she strongly believes the debut album will open more doors for her to adequately express her musical abilities.
