Godfather returns with ‘Ritual Fusion’

After playing in several bands including Noble Kings, Starlight,Roadrunners, Los Americanos and Gee Dees, Denmark-based Ghanaian musician, Delips Sarpong better known as The Godfather, is out with  his third album called Ritual Fusion.

Songs on the 12- twelve track include Sugar Baby, Bɔne Nkoaa, Poverty In Africa and Akwaaba. The album was recorded by the mucisian himself in his Delips Quality Studio in Denmark.

The 60- year-old artiste has dedicated his Akwaaba song on the album to Ghana. He describes Ghana as a peaceful country and the best place to be.  He also entreats foreigners to come and have a feel of the country.

On Sugar Baby, The Godfather describes the love of his life as the best thing that ever happened to me. He says his woman is good in everything and makes him happy all the time.

The album will be released early next month.

Speaking to Showbiz, The Godfather who  recorded his first album Papa U Go Know in 1981 and followed with his second album Awɔ Ni in 1985, said he was finally back to do music after staying abroad for 35 years.

“I have been doing music since I was 16 years old. I believe this new album will do well because I took time to work on it,” The Godfather stated.

Talking about the contemporary music scene here, The Godfather said he was appreciative of the many gifted musicians who are all doing their best to keep the scene going.

“The thing that makes me unique is that I play drums, guitar, keyboard and sing as well. These abilities help me to come with good songs,” he pointed out.
