UK based Ghanaian musician, Fuse ODG, has earned three nominations at this year’s Music of Black Origin (MOBO) which will come off on October 22.
He earned nominations in the Best Male, Best Song and the Best African Act categories.
The show which will be hosted at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London, will see the Antenna hit maker compete with other strong contenders such as Mista Silva, Afrikan Boy, Davido, DJ Clock, Dr Sid, Mafikozolo, Tiwa Savage, Wiz Kid and Yemi Alade for the 2014 Best African Act award.
He won the Best African Act award last year and many fans of Fuse ODG are confident he will retain the title this year.
Real name, Richard Nana Abiona, Fuse ODG rose to prominence in the Ghanaian music circles when he collaborated with Tiffany on the song, Azonto, in 2011.
He prides himself as a pioneer of the TINA movement, an acronym for ‘This Is New Africa’. The concept of TINA is to urge Africans both at home and in the diaspora to use their skills and talent to change the negative image of Africa to the world.
