He is one of the hottest acts to emerge from the northern part of this country in recent times and Ahmed Mujahid Bello, better known as Fancy Gadam, is hopeful of walking away with the Best New Artiste of the Year trophy at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheduled for April 8 in Accra.
Fancy Gadam has, therefore, appealed to his teeming fans in the three Northern regions and across the country to vote massively for him to win the award.
He is definitely a talented young musician with a bright future ahead of him. What makes him stand tall among his peers in any corner of this country are the dancing skills and high voltage performance that accompanies his sing-along hit tracks.
He has single handedly filled the National Theatre and the Tamale Stadium to capacity with his captivating showmanship.
His new song making the rounds at the moment is Champion Boy which makes people everywhere feel a sense of self-esteem.
The 24-year-old musician sings in his native Dagbani, a bit of Hausa and pidgen English. The young man’s favourite styles of music are Dancehall, Afro-pop and Hiplife.
Fancy Gadam is thrilled he has released a debut album and also has more than 20 singles to his credit. Some of his well-known tracks are Concrete Naayi Koomi ft. Rashid Metal and Nation Champion.
“I’m happy to be in the nominations at this year’s VGMA and I pray I win. That would be a big boost for many other young ‘undergroud’ musicians, especially those in the three northern regions,” Fancy Gadam said.
He won several awards at the 2015 and 2016 Northern Entertainment Awards and was also crowned New Artiste of the Year at the 2016 Bass Awards dedicated to Reggae and Dancehall
“My fans motivate me a lot because they believe in me and I always work hard to ensure I don't let them down. That’s why they must vote for me to win the VGMA award,” Fancy Gadam stated.
He is managed by 5M Music and trusts they would all be smiling when he lifts the New Artiste of the Year award at the upcoming VGMA.
