Empress Gifty drops 'Awieyε Pa' on May 11

Ghanaian gospel artiste Empress Gifty has shared the story behind her latest single, "Awieyε Pa," which features rising star Ewura Abena Musiq.

In a press release ahead of the song's release on May 11, 2023, Empress Gifty revealed that Ewura Abena Musiq reached out to her with the song idea, which is based on Jeremiah 29:11.

The song, which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by legendary music producer Shadrach Yawson, features contributions from several other musicians, including lead guitarist Dominic Quarchie, bassist Dan Grahl, and backing vocalists TMC, Tasha, and Nana Yaa. Emmanuel Bludo played the drums, Kuuku Ansong contributed horns, and Shadrach Yawson played the keyboards.

In the press release, Empress Gifty expressed her gratitude to industry players for their support and urged fans and music lovers to stream and share the song on all platforms. "Awieyε Pa" translates literally in Akan as great ending and is taken from Jeremiah 29:11, which reads: "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
