Edem, Shatta Wale nominated in WAMVA

Hiplife artiste, Edem, has been nominated for the topmost award at the maiden edition of WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards (WAMVA) scheduled for  Saturday, December 3.

The Nyedzilo artiste earned a spot in the African Video of the year category. He comes up against the Nigerian squad of Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Tekno Pana.

South Africa’s Casper Nyovest, Ahmed Chawki (Morocco), Franko (Cameroon), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) and Egypt’s Amr Diab are also in the race for the African Video of the year category.

Apart from Edem, other Ghanaian artistes who had nominations in the various categories are Ruff n Smooth, 4x4, VVIP. They face “rivalry” from South Africa’s Mafikizolo, Nigeria’s Mavins and Bracket and Navy Kenzo from Tanzania for the Best African Group Video award.

Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Eazzy and  MzVee were also nominated in the Best African Reggae/Dancehall video of the year. 

In all, there are 21 categories to be awarded on the night including  Best African Video Director, Best African New Comer video, Best African RnB Video, Best International Video and Best African Traditional Video.
