Speaking with Graphic Showbiz, Djokoto explains that the song, Maabena,  tells a story about how hard it is for men who are financially handicapped  to get a woman and some of the absurd things he personally did to get a woman when he was broke.

Born Felix Kwame Dzidzor Djokoto, the young artiste said he was inspired to compose the song after an encounter with a lady he met early in the year.

The song which was produced by Kwame Dracula and mixed by Liquid beatz starts off with a rap about how he posted pictures of a glamorous lifestyle on Instagram to win the love of a girl only for her to find out his true “status”.

He sings about how many young ladies fall for the fake lifestyles of guys on social media and how the trend has encouraged “broke” boys to exhibit such attractive lifestyles to win the  attention of ladies.

The artiste blends the Ewe language with Ga and Asante Twi without a hitch to give a soothing unique sound in the hook which makes it easy for  the average Ghanaian to identify with .

Djokoto, who is currently a founding partner at PlayOn Radio, a radio app, describes the music industry as the survival of the fittest and adds that he believes the Ghanaian industry is ready for his music considering the massive airplay the song is already enjoying.

“People say I have a lot of potential to do great things and I believe in myself too,” he stated.

He says he’s working in the studios to release about three songs for his teeming fans before the end years.

Apart from doing music, Djokoto is a creative strategist who has worked with brands such as Club Beer and Close-Up.
