Coda makes a plea with I’m Sorry

The concept of love has become an attractive theme for artistes to sing about in their songs and new hiplife group, Coda, is no different.

On their new song, I’m Sorry, the duo, Carthy Warthy One and Mafixer, sing about their undying love for their partners.

Carthy Warthy One starts the song by apologising to his love and promising to make it up to her by buying her a Bugatti. He promises never to do anything to hurt her in the future since the love he has for her is unending.

He adds that he is ready to lay down his life to prove the depth of the love he has for her irrespective of what others might say or do.

Mafixzer comes in with his raps to assure the lady of his heart that he always has her best interest at heart and would do anything to keep her from leaving him.

Mafixzer delivers his raps in a very simple manner, which makes it easy to hear and capture the essence of what he says. His presence on the song is limited to just a single rap verse although the song would have been much improved if he was given a much bigger role.

In an interview with the group, they revealed that they got the inspiration for the song because of the experience a friend of theirs went through.

“This is basically a love song to help our friend win back his girl. His girlfriend threatened to break up with him because of something he did so we were inspired to compose the song in order to help him win her back,” they said.

The group, Coda, was formed in 2008 when both artistes met at a talent show held during the handing over ceremony of the Southern Students Association of the Islamic Science Secondary School in Tamale, while they were both students.

They discovered that they had similar interests and decided to team up to make music.

The group has released a number of songs such as What You Want, Dagbani Bi Vieli, Kolikoli, Alankash which featured Shocker Blaze of Deensi fame and Today which also featured Abada Black Shanty and Lord Destro.
