Can Kokoveli bounce back?
Many times, musicians pop up, ride the crest of fame for a while and then suddenly vanish, not to be heard of again.

One such musician is Hiplife artiste, Kokoveli who appears to have fallen off this planet after the release of his third album, Me Mbre in 2007.
When Showbiz caught up with him last Monday, the first and obvious question we asked was, “ where have you been and what have you been up to?”
After letting out a broad smile, Kokoveli, real name Nathaniel Totimeh and known for hits Zaa Za and African Woman said, “I have been in and out of town doing business and observing the music scene.
“I did a lot of thinking during all that period and realised that it is always better to lie low for sometime and just observe, during that period, I also realised that we could do bêtter than just going out of the country to perform for only Ghanaian communities,” he said.
After that long break, Kokoveli said he is back and back for good, “I have been very busy lately doing collaborations with some of my colleagues here as well as others from Nigeria”
On the local front, he said he had been doing singles collabos with Zeal (Lazzy) of VVIP, Tic Tac and Jupiter.
To Kokoveli, the local music scene is doing great and he is happy about it. “ The boys are really doing good and it is not surprising that they are getting gigs to play in Europe and in other African countries.”
Kokoveli had a piece of advice for his colleagues, “We have to take what we do seriously, it is our profession and what feeds us. This is showbiz which means show and business so we need to take the commercial part seriously by delivering what the people want.”
He used Amakye Dede as an example saying that though he has not released any new song in the past few years, yet his music is still relevant and doing great in Ghana because he churned great songs that people still enjoy.
Going down memory lane, Kokoveli said he used to be part of a group called Popcorn before he became part of the very popular Hiplife Trinity comprising himself, Samini (then Batman) and K.K.Fosu.
“It was never our intention to form a group, even the name Hiplife Trinity did not come from us. We used to live in the same neighbourhood and we were like brothers,” he added.
