Not many budding musician can boast of earning an award at the early stages of their career. New artiste, Brenya, is among the lucky ones.

He earned the Best Alternative Gospel Song award at the Gospel Industry Awards for the video of his song, Life, last year.

And it seems the young artiste is poised to make himself relevant on the music scene.  He has a new song titled, Barikisu, which was released a fortnight ago.

Brenya has repeatedly shown interest in love themed songs and Barikisu is no different.

Various qualities about women attract men and for Brenya, what he loves most about his woman, Barikisu, is her calm and serviceable nature which drives the need in him to settle down quickly.

The song, produced by Senyo Cue, also urges men not to waste time in settling down with the good ladies who exhibit traits of a good wife.

A product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he studied Computer Science, Brenya told Showbiz on Thursday that, he had to pursue his passion for music because it is a long cherished dream.

“I chose music because I believed more than anything

that I had a bigger platform to be heard. My family and friends have suggested that I pursue the career for which I had a university education but I know what I’m about. Music is my calling and I know that I will yield the fruits in future,” he stated.

Currently signed under the management of Media Consult, Brenya said he is inspired by the many great songs produced by his “senior” artistes which he said have served as his “mirror to make good music for the public”.

In his response to a question on how he plans to make it in a competitive field, he remarked, “In my opinion, the music industry is big and every artiste has his/her crop of client. You identify them and feed them with what you want. They are the taste-makers. The more you satisfy them, the more hits you gather in your catalogue”.
