Following the release of four singles, Di Emprez, Party, The Pace Setter and Funky Fresh, new dancehall artiste Akosua Kwarkye better known as AK Di Songstress believes she is the hottest female dancehall artiste in Ghana at the moment.

“I don’t get on stage just to sing, I give to my audience what they want. They bought tickets to come watch me perform. When it comes to entertainment, the females are not my competition and that is the more reason why people love what I do

“I love the energy male dancehall performers put up on stage. When I leave the stage after a performance I go to rest because I work a lot up there.” She told Showbiz in an interview on Sunday.

All four songs were recorded by Danny Beats in Accra. On The Pace Setter, AK Di Songstress raps about how loaded her lyrics are and how she intends to take dancehall music to the next level.

On the same song, AK Di Songstress says no one can stop her from doing what she wants. She told Showbiz that only few female musicians are doing well as dancehall artistes, but soon Ghana and the world at large would experience real dancehall music from a female rapper.

“I am not bragging but the records will have to be set straight. I just came on stage seven month ago and  have had the opportunity to perform in 10 shows including the 4styte Music Video  Awards in Kumasi and so music lovers must watch out.” She said.

Currently signed to Paradise Entertainment, AK Di Songstress said following the release of three videos out of her four singles, she is putting together her maiden album which should be ready by the end of the year.
