We need industrial harmony at MMT
Some workers of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Company Limited yesterday embarked on a nation-wide strike to back their demands for solutions to a number of challenges bedevilling the company.

Drivers, conductors, mechanics and entry point clerks of the company thronged the head office of the MMT in red bands and chanted war songs to drum home their demands, including the stepping aside of the board chairman and the deputy managing director.
The situation left commuters stranded, as the buses that had to convey people to their various destinations across the country were parked.
Among other issues, the workers claimed that a significant number of the buses of the company had broken down, while others had gone missing.
The MMT, they claimed, was unable to buy spare parts to service broken-down vehicles, leading to the situation where workers went to work and only sat down doing nothing.
