Our assets include existing production and development projects offshore Ghana, large discoveries and significant further exploration potential offshore Mauritania and Senegal, as well as exploration licences with significant hydrocarbon potential offshore Suriname, Sao Tome and Principe, Morocco, and Western Sahara.

We came to Ghana in 2004 and found oil in 2007. Since then, we have invested several billion dollars to help Ghana build a vibrant and world-class petroleum sector.

We have also worked hard to promote transparency and good governance in the oil and gas industry by supporting the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, publishing our contracts, and publicly disclosing our payments to government at both the project level and in aggregate.

Kosmos is committed to doing its part to create a positive future for Ghana. Sourcing goods and services locally and hiring Ghanaian nationals is an important way that we achieve this goal.

In 2015, Kosmos achieved a major milestone by employing a 100 per cent Ghanaian staff. In addition, we have built a solid network of local suppliers and invested in training and capacity building so these small businesses can service the industry.

We continue to support social investment in Ghana, primarily through the Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) – a programme dedicated to applying innovation and technology to some of the
country’s key challenges.

In its inaugural years, the KIC has focused on the nexus between information and communications technology and agriculture, the largest sector in Ghana’s
economy, with the goal of inspiring young entrepreneurs to start businesses that transform.
