Jubilee Partners praise local service provider ZETL

The Jubilee Partners have commended Ghanaian oil and gas service provider, Zeal Environmental Technologies Ltd (ZETL), for maintaining standards and the provision of world-class service to the support the industry in Ghana.

The team from Tullow, Kosmos Energy, PetroSA, GNPC and Anadarko Petroleum, which was full of praise for the Ghanaian company,  said after carrying out the maintenance work on the Floating, Production, Storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Kwame Nkrumah, it was important to carry out audit of the supporting activities on shore.

Speaking after the surprise visit to the facility of ZETL at Nyankrom, the leader of the delegation, Mr Scott Bergeron, who is also the Director of Health, Safety and Environment of the Kosmos Energy in Dallas, said the visit was to audit the company on how it was handling its waste.

The companies forming the partnership, he said, had great respect for issues of environment and safety. The partners he said had limited options within the West African sub-region and the emergence of ZETL was welcoming.

Mr. Bergeron said form time to time, an audit team from partners visits the premises of companies supporting their operations and that the level of investment at  ZETL since they last visited was significant.

The health safety director said as the discovery of the hydrocarbon came with expectations, one of the biggest challenges of the partners was the waste generated how it would be managed.

The industry he said was now confident with the level investment by ZETL, which he said was comparable to other facilities seen in other parts of the world, saying: “With the level of commitment and standards we see here at the facility, we are rest assured that our waste has gotten into the right hands.”

“The location of the ZETL facility in Ghana is strategic and critical to our operations because in the West Africa we have limited options and emergence of the facility was welcoming news to the partners,” he said.

As global companies forming the partnership, he said expect the service or the supporting companies maintaining the class service that would meet the set standards and ensure safety of the environment.

He said the team at ZETL had always demonstrated its willingness to ensure that its operations were always up to date and urged them to keep the standards high.

For his part, the General Manager of the Company, Mr. W. Bantum Johnson, said ZNTL would continue to maintain its high standard to remained first choice in West Africa and beyond.

He said the operations continue to update itself with the current demands of the industry, making them always very ready for the new technologies and international best standards.

The visitors were taken through the various departments of the ZETL and how hazardous and non-hazardous wastes generated from the offshore operations were managed.
