SES HD Plus Ghana Ltd has organised a five-day training workshop to equip music video directors with practical skills to enable them to produce quality content to meet international standards.

The training was in line with 3Music Award’s social impact campaign to intensify the need for more professionals in the music and entertainment industry.

The Marketing Director for SES HD Plus Ghana Ltd, Ms Adelaide Ahovy Abbiw-Williams, said: “We realised that Ghana has artists with good voices, however, our videos are often not good enough for us to compete on the global market.

“If we are able to produce quality music videos, Ghanaian music will compete on the international market and bring economic growth to our industry.”

She explained that the 10 beneficiaries of the project would work with close guidance from facilitators to plan, shoot and edit a music video for Adina at the end of the workshop.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SES HD Plus Ghana Ltd, Mr Theodore Asampong, said “At HD plus our vision is to make available world-class high definition video content available to Ghanaians everywhere.”

He added that the project would enable music and movie directors to learn the right skills to produce high quality content in the right way that was acceptable by international standards.

That, he said, would also enable them to compete on the international market.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to SES HD Plus Ghana Ltd for the training, adding that “this is the first time a training like this has been put together for music video directors here in Ghana, it makes a lot of difference to be taught the right way to do things and this has been an avenue experience for us.”
