The Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana, Uche Ofodile, has been decorated with a special honour at the recent Mobile World Awards in Accra.

Her outstanding contribution to marketing in helping to transform the Vodafone brand into a relevant and contemporary brand, is what has doubled revenue for the company in just two years.

Uche’s unique combination of innovation, value and empowerment has led to several ‘firsts’ in the Ghanaian market, including the introduction of Ghana’s lowest call-rate across networks, the creation of value bundles such as ‘Vodafone 1 Ghana’ and ‘Supreme Value’ which her competitors are trying to copy.

In addition, she has changed the face of music in Ghana through the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Vodafone Live, ICONS and 020 Live. With her ability to continually champion the creation of HealthLine, it is easy to understand how she has driven the massive success behind the Vodafone brand over the last few years.

Uche’s passion and determination to make Vodafone the most preferred mobile brand has seen Vodafone picking up several awards including CIMG Telecommunications Company of the Year.

Vodafone also repeated history by collecting six awards at the recent Mobile Telecoms Awards.

Vodafone’s television programme, HealthLine, was also declared Best Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year, while former CEO, Kyle Whitehill, was also recognised for his outstanding contribution to the telecommunications sector.

In a related development,  Vodafone Ghana, is out with another surprise for its loyal customers who end up getting more than the usual ‘Happy Birthday’ text message as Vodafone could surprise you with a birthday party.

Alhaji Suleman Mohammed, a mobile phone vendor at Tudu in Accra Central, was left speechless when Vodafone surprised him on his birthday with a delicious birthday cake and champagne.

The Head of Consumer Marketing, Tara Squire, said “This year, Vodafone Ghana has challenged itself to get even closer to our customers by sharing in their personal joy and the things that matter to them most. Customers are at the heart of everything we do and we want to meet their individual needs in every possible way we can. Vodafone Ghana will continue to look for innovative ways to reward our loyal customers.”
