The new platform, dubbed “Akoma”, is to help like-minded women to network, share ideas and be motivated for success.

The platform is expected to bring together women from all walks of life, such as academia, medicine, security, business women, market women, media and housewives, among others.

The Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank, Mrs Pearl Esua-Mensah, who disclosed this on November 18, 2014 said it would provide women with tools to support and grow themselves, their families, businesses and every aspect of their lives.

She added that it would provide an opportunity for women to inspire one another with relevant experiences and insights to enhance their total well-being.

The Akoma platform is accessible on www.akomalink.com.

The UT Bank DMD also mentioned that women needed trusted sources of information to help them make important decisions and network with the right calibre of people.

She was confident the Akoma platform would help women to be inspired by the untold stories of the average woman.

She also explained that UT Bank had been serving the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) market over the years and constantly evolving to provide innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of the informal sector.

“Over the years, the bank has realised that the needs of women extend beyond financial expectations. Akoma gives UT Bank the opportunity to meet these needs more comprehensively,” she added.
