Two institutions to honour HR practitioners

L’aine Services Limited and the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana are the organisations spearheading the maiden awards.

THE Chief Executive Officer of HR Focus Magazine, Mrs Ellen Hagan, made this known when she paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, at the group’s head office in Accra on Wednesday.

The visit was to seek partnership with GCGL in the organisation of the award ceremony.

Mrs Hagan explained that the awards would be given in seven categories. They are the best organisation in learning and development, best employee relation practitioner, best organisation in reward management practice, the best organisation in performance management and  the best organisation in recruitment and selection.

Other categories are the overall best organisation in human resource practice and overall best human resource practitioner of the year.

Mrs Hagan added that the event, which is scheduled for October 4 and 5 this year, at La the Palm Beach Resort, would include an exhibition, an HR forum, education on the HR course and specialisation.

Mr Ashigbey pledged to offer space in one of the newspapers of the company for the institute to contribute articles.

‘’Professionalism is critical, without it nothing will happen. People must pay attention to Human Resource because it is critical, since it cuts across all human endeavours,’’ he said.

Mr Ashigbey underlined the need for every industry in the country to be supported.
