Treepz celebrates 1m bookings milestone
Treepz, a ride hailing firm, has announced yet another milestone, after completing a one million bookings across three countries in Africa in the last three months.
The company, operating in Ghana, Nigeria and Uganda, announced on March 23 that the books span across the three core services the business offers including daily, travel and corporate.

Over the period, the company has introduced innovation into the daily commute of ordinary Africans. Powered by cutting edge technology, the start-up is consistently building partnerships with private fleet owners, driver unions, and organised transport companies.
Leveraging technology
The Country Manager of Treepz Ghana, Isidore Kpotufe, said in an interview in Accra that the firm will continue to bring more value to its partners and customers, leveraging technology to make the commute of all Ghanaians predictable, structured and accessible.
“We are guided by our mission and we will further accelerate this growth by delivering solutions that are relevant to the needs of Ghanaians,” he said.
With Daily Treepz, he said, was an intra-city service focused on connecting riders to heroes (drivers) commuting within cities and Travel Treepz, which allows online booking of bus tickets.
“The company’s products improve the operational efficiency of bus companies while enhancing the experience for customers.
“The Corporate Treepz product is designed to make transport needs of employees, schools and other organised groups more comfortable and convenient,” he said.
Milestone achievement
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm, Onyeka Akumah said this milestone achievement has largely been driven by the company’s inter-continent expansion, great business decisions and efforts of the team.
He said it would also not have been possible without the dedicated service of our heroes, partners and the loyalty of our esteemed riders.
“We are very excited about our tremendous growth and progress we have made in the past three months, with our weekly bookings increasing at a rapid rate.
“In addition to the celebrated one million milestone bookings, they recently won the Global Startup Awards for African Industrial Technology Company of the year,” he said.
Going forward, he said Treepz will be focused on expanding into five additional African countries while hitting other notable milestones before the end of the year.
