Thywill Business Investments to introduce new housing technology

A local construction company, Thywill Business Investments and Consultancy Services has planned to introduce a new housing technology into the country known as gas concrete technology.

This is to enable the company produce environmentally friendly homes which can be constructed within three months.

The Chief Executive of the company, Mr Christopher Foe who made this known at the 10th anniversary celebrations of the company in Ho said the new technology would reduce the cost of construction for an average home by 30 per cent.

He added that the Colleges of Nursing, Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and hospitals were targeted for the delivery of the housing project.

Mr Foe declared the intention to breakaway from all forms of docility and to challenge foreign counterparts in the construction and business industry.

He said gone were the days when foreign contractors were offered juicy contracts against local ones on grounds of shoddy work and delay in delivering projects on schedule by local contractors.

According to him, the company has positioned itself to acquire a state-of-the art equipment to enable it compete with any kind of company in the world adding that it was migrating from conventional method of construction to a modernized system.

He said discrimination against local contractors in respect of late payment for work done and the undue exploitation of local artisans against the confines of the labour laws of the state were a bane to the thrive of local contractors.

Three hardworking staff of the company were presented with awards at the ceremony. The grand worker, Mr Robert Gbetsi received a three bedroom house, a deep freezer went to Mr Japhet Foe and a gas cooker and home theatre went to Mr Gabriel Atsu as the second and third best workers respectively.
