The National Lottery Authority (NLA) is the only Institution mandated by law to run Lottery and Games of chance in Ghana. In accordance with the provisions set in the National Lotto Act 722, NLA created the Caritas Lottery Brand in November 2012.

The Caritas Lottery Platform is a platform on which lottery schemes are run using a random number generator to electronically draw winners.

It affords an opportunity to commercial, financial Institutions, corporate bodies, organizations and well-meaning Ghanaians to run their business promotions through lottery schemes in collaboration with NLA.

Since its creation, most organizations, especially financial institutions, have taken advantage of the opportunity to partner with NLA to enhance their product sales.

Additionally, the introduction of the Caritas brand has sanitized the "consumer promo" space which otherwise was fraught with many challenges. It provides a legal framework on which all consumer promotions are successfully administered.

The brand's introduction perfectly aligns with our burning desire to do more as regards national development and stakeholder satisfaction. The brand markedly represents a renaissance in the life of the Authority as we associate with reputable brands in the country.

During the last four years of the brand's existence, we have associated with numerous Award-winning Banking institutions in the country via several deposit mobilization campaigns as a strategy to enhance a savings culture, improve deposit mobilization, improve ties with the under banked and rope in the unbanked in society.

This, as a consequence, has seen the Caritas Brand being used as a tool to achieve the all important objective of financial inclusion in the country.

Through the use of the Caritas brand, over GH¢700 million have been mobilized by partnering banks since its inception in 2012.

It is also worth mentioning that, through such collaborations, thousands of bank accounts have been opened whiles thousands of people have also won life changing prizes.

Again, many operators of Fast-moving consumable goods (FMCGs) have succeeded in their quest to enhance their product sales.

Revenue generated by NLA from this Platform is used mainly for Social Responsibility Projects and to support the less privileged in society, in accordance with its mandate under the provisions of Act 722.

The Caritas Lottery Brand has greatly expandedNLA's CSR interventions in the area of Sports, Arts & Culture, Education and Health thus touching the lives of many underprivileged persons in society.

Total Ghana, Access Bank, Barclays Bank, Fidelity Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, GCB Bank, Unibank, UT Bank, GN Bank, Vivo Ghana Limited, SC Johnson, Societe Generale, Multichoice, GoTV, Glo, Airtel Ghana Limited andUniversal Merchant Bank include institutions that pride themselves in associating with the Caritas Lottery Platform.

NLA will like to urge other organizations and corporate bodies to join the Caritas bandwagon to reward their loyal clients while bringing development to our dear nation.

NLA will keep churning out exciting and innovative products to create excitement for our patrons and citizenry while developing our communities.

As the global need for exciting lottery games increase, NLA will not rest on its oars but strive to keep up with the pace. Currently, we are focused on satisfying the needs of our clients and players by investing in new exciting games with new channels of play that will sustain their interest.

This will also enable players enjoy these games from the comfort of their locations and at their convenience. Reward structures for these games will even be easier. Players will have a number of options available to them for the redemption of their prizes.

The NLA on a quest to grow lottery to greater heights in line with our vision to become the Organization of Choice and Blueprint for Lottery in Africa and this begins with the understanding of the benefits same delivers to the nation.

Globally, lottery has contributed immensely to national development and Ghana is no exception.

As alluded to earlier, lottery in Ghana has contributed significantly to the building of schools, roads, hospitals, and other social amenities.

The NLA is happy to contribute to such development but it is worth noting, we couldn't have done this without you.

We are indeed grateful to all who have supported us and look forward to achieving more in future via the Caritas Lottery Platform.
