StanChart retains position as Digital Bank of the Year
Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC has been named the Digital Bank of the Year at the 2022 Ghana Information Technology & Telecom Awards (GITTA).
The bank’s banking platform, SC Mobile, also won the Mobile Banking App of the Year for the 6th consecutive time.

In a release issued by the bank, it said the honours were extended to Standard Chartered for its continuous excellent service, innovation and utilisation of cutting-edge technology in the provision of banking services to its clients at the 12th GITTA Awards Gala.
It said the bank in reclaiming the awards it won last year, underscored its position as the undisputed leader and authority in Ghana’s digital banking service provision.
“These awards come prior to the bank hosting the 2nd Digital, Banking, Innovation and Fintech Festival – on the theme: “Powering Africa’s Digital Economy: Platforms | Players | Policy. Digital technology has changed the way Africa’s financial service industry offers products and services to consumers,” it said.
Acknowledging the awards, the Head of Customer, Private and Business Banking at the bank, Yvonne Gyebi, said it was a humbling moment for the bank to be recognised for the fourth year running.
That, she said, was a demonstration of the bank’s continuous commitment to put its clients at the centre of innovations, products and services.
“We will continue to invest in technology, innovate with our banking solutions like the SC DigiAdvisory platform, flagship Straight2Bank Next Gen platform for corporate clients and the award-winning SC Mobile Digital Bank,” she added.
The release said the Digital Products Manager at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC, Yao Wordih, received the Special Recognition Award for Promoting Digital Products
