Robust Q3 results boost trade on GSE

Financial stocks dominated activity during the week under review as seven of them were among the equities that advanced on the bourse.

The indices also extended their recovery with robust earnings results driving activity levels and defying two decliners. 

The benchmark Composite Index (CI) appreciated by 22.96 points on the strength of the advancers to end the week at 2,249.33 points. This gain brought the year-to-date return on the market to 4.85 per cent. 

The Financial Stocks Index (FSI) also rose by 37.77 points to 2,200.28 points. The return on the financial index stands at 23.15 per cent.

Movers

Stanchart and Benso Oil Palm continued to rally  this week with demand by investors on the back of  impressive third quarter earnings pushing their share prices up by 36GHp and 16GHp to GH¢18.88 and GH¢4 respectively. 

GCB Bank reversed some of last week’s losses; it climbed 9GHp to GH¢5.29. HFC Bank was also in demand, edging up by 5
