Prudential Bank opens Taifa branch
Prudential Bank says it is poised to facilitate financial inclusion for small-scale and medium-scale enterprises and individuals who will ordinarily have no access to banking services.

To this end, the bank has added a mobile banking platform dubbed ‘mobiWise’ which provides money transfer services, mobile money, third-party payment for bills and cardless transactions.
The Deputy Managing Director in charge of Banking Operations, Prudential Bank, Mrs Mary Brown, who announced this in Accra on Friday, said: “With our mobile banking platform, customers are able to carry out various transactions conveniently as their accounts are linked to their mobile money wallet.”
Mrs Brown, who was speaking at the opening of the Taifa branch, said the future of banking was technology; hence, the decision to invest in the latest banking technologies to make banking more convenient for customers.
She said the Taifa branch was opened to serve the banking needs of the community and its environs.
She added that the market analysis before opening the branch revealed that the area had shops, clinics, small and medium sized enterprises and a residential area that needed access to banking services.
Mrs Brown, therefore, urged businesses and individuals in the area to take advantage of the bank’s services and products to expand their businesses.
She stated that the bank had products and services tailored for small and medium-scale enterprises engaged in trading, handicraft production and export, fishing/cold store business and transport services.
“The bank provides a comprehensive range of current and savings accounts, including special church accounts for churches and congregation,” she said.
She said the bank would soon extend its services to cover the rest of the country.
The Head, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Prudential Bank, Mrs Akosua A. Boahen, stated that the bank’s reputation was built on a strong tradition of integrity and quality service delivery.
She mentioned some of Prudential Bank’s product as consumer credit facilities targeted at salaried workers, welfare loans and vehicle ownership financing for customers.
Mrs Boahen said the bank would work hard to substantially increase its market share and customer base.
