Premium Motors Limited has finally taken the Renault car franchise in Ghana, with a promise to make customer satisfaction a priority. The Renault franchise was until last year under the CFAO group in Ghana.

Premium Motors is an offshoot of Auto Plaza Limited, accredited agents of Hyundai vehicles in Ghana.

The Chief Executive of Premium Motors Limited, Mr Jihad Hijazi, who made this known, said Renault approached them at the end of last year to seek a very strategic partnership for Ghana.

He said the move was to be able to inculcate what they have in France and Europe in Ghana.

“You know Renault in France is a strategic company which produces high-quality vehicles. Ghana has recently become one of the strategic partners of Renault France and from a medium to long-term basis, the partnership is to enable Renault  to become one of the top five automobile companies in the world,” Mr Hijazi told the Daily Graphic in an interview at the Paris Motor show in France.

He said Premium Motors was poised to re-enact what Auto Plaza did with the Hyundai brand and that they would ride on the 10 years’ experience of Auto Plaza to promote Renault brands in Ghana.

He said Premium Motors was a new company which was established at the beginning of 2014 to promote Renault in Ghana.

On how Renault would fit into the Ghanaian environment, Mr Hijazi said the brand was thought of in some circles as a France and European brand but obviously it had taken over Africa as a very important region of expansion, and accordingly, they had built a range of products that was very conducive to consumers and the African environment.

He said the product range designed for Africa was very comfortable and at an affordable price.

He mentioned the Renault Duster, an SUV, for example, which he said had a starting price of US$18,000 and other reliable light commercial vehicles which he said were all very affordable.
