Perform your functions with utmost professionalism --John Kumah charges Internal Audit Agency

A Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr John Kumah has urged the Board and the Director General of the Internal Audit Agency to pursue measures to reduce the annual infractions reported by the Auditor-General.

He said the Agency must also ensure that all defaulting Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and MMDAs comply with the reporting requirements under the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

Dr Kumah said this at the 2022 Annual Internal Audit Conference. He was speaking under the theme ‘Repositioning and restructuring public sector internal audit for accelerated socio-economic development in Ghana’.

He said if the government could deliver more with the limited resources, then preventing waste and generating more revenue was paramount and therefore focus should be placed on the work of internal auditing to ensure value addition.
