Panasonic’s fixed wireless phones to lower costs

Panasonic Corporation has improved its Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) solutions to offer superior and fast communication services from home and offices at reasonable lower costs.

The aim, the company said, was to give its FWP solutions comparatively more value to other mobile communication devices.

The KX-TW501 model, which is for home and office use, has a wide dynamic range of features which including phone book with SIM phone book import, multi handset capability (up to six handsets), hands free speaker phone, SMS, voice mail and also a Free Base Unit for Best GSM reception possible.

Officials of Panasonic, who explained the features to journalists in Nairobi, Kenya, said the models were also stylishly designed, providing an aesthetic appeal and comfort for a long talk.

The telephones designed for home or office use like ‘PSTN’ telephone devices, operated via mobile phone operator’s network, can be integrated with “Home Zone Service” or “Office Zone Service” contract to get subscribers a reasonable phone tariff.

“The home zone service offers a solution to use mobile phone for the home at reasonable costs, but demands that the end users change land lines to fixed wireless phone,” Panasonic said in a statement issued in Nairobi.

It added that “this is particularly important because many mobile operators run special rates such as lower monthly tariffs and flat rates at registered areas for fixed wireless phone option is provided by, making it easier to implement and use.”

The worldwide leader in the development and manufacture of fixed telephone handsets as well as other electronic products said the phones were designed to provide a two way benefit for both the operator and the user/subscriber alike.

“Whilst the operator can benefit from the revenue from contract, the user benefits from a device which comes at a nominal charge and also gets a better tariff than a fixed line,” the statement said.
