The new Huawei Ascend Y210 is aimed at driving data usage among Ghanaians to increase business productivity and make social networking on the phone more exciting.

Unveiling the Ascend Y210, Mr. Michael Ikpoki, CEO of MTN, said, “MTN considers it our responsibility to ensure we explore innovative technological solutions that enable Ghanaians to boldly enter the digital world with solutions that meet their communications needs.”

He further stated that as the leading mobile data provider in Ghana, MTN provided data services with huge benefits in terms of affordable internet rates and user experience to subscribers.

Mr Ikpoki noted that MTN, in its efforts to move Ghana further into the digital age, had recognised that one main hindrance to people’s acquisition and usage of smartphone devices was price.

“This has created a smartphone adoption gap which needs to be filled with a “low priced” handset that offers authentic smartphone experience. It is in recognition of this that MTN is partnering Huawei to provide the Ascend Y210 handset,” he said.
