The Chief Executive Officer of GN Bank, Mr Patrick Anumel, said although the bank had rebranded, its core values and mission remained the same.

He explained that GN Bank changed from 1st National Bank because that name was almost in every country; thus it would be difficult to build a unique brand with a name that was so over-flagged.

On the colours of GN Bank, he explained that the Gold and Maroon offered an express meaning to the determination of shareholders to create wealth for stakeholders and encourage people to work enthusiastically to reach their targets.

The programme drew patrons from the finance and banking industry, traditional authorities, the academia, civil society groups and clients of the bank.

The Adahene of the New Juabeng Traditional Area, Odeifor Nana Boadi, who stood in for the Special Guest of Honour, Daasabre Prof. (Emeritus) Oti Boateng, conveyed how happy Daasebre was about the bank’s presence in the Eastern Region.

Prof. Oti Boateng, Nana Adahene disclosed, was pleased to know that the bank has six branches in the Eastern Region: Koforidua, Oda, Nkawkaw, Juapong, Mpraeso and Abetifi.

“We are told you are the ‘People’s Bank’. And that is shown in the number of branches that we are told you’ve opened throughout the country,” Prof. Oti Boateng noted.

GN has 103 branches throughout the country, including some of the remotest parts where some of the traditional banks have either folded-up or dread going.

In the Upper West Region, the bank is found at Hamle on Ghana’s border with Burkina Faso; Sampa, a town on Ghana’s border with La Cote d’Ivoire and Dzemeni on Ghana’s border with Togo.

Through Nana Adahene, Dasebre Oti Boateng appealed to GN Bank to help sponsor a football team in the region to gain promotion into the elite premiership league.

A member of the Board of Directors of GN Bank, Mr Francis Baffour, traced how the bank started eight years ago with a small branch at North Ridge in Accra and how through diligent work and determination the bank was now in every part of the country.

He, therefore, urged customers and clients to have hope in GN Bank because it had their interest at heart.

The name GN Bank is currently in the Western, Central, Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti and Eastern regions. GB
