With the credit, he said, the customer is permitted to call any network, send SMSs and also browse the internet.
He added that the bonus credit could not be used to make international calls. However, whatever the customer spent could be used for the international calls.
Mr Mamuro also noted that the offer was limited to prepaid customers on the network but gave the assurance that another offer for the post-paid customers would be revealed soon.
Glo, which entered the market after its three year stay outside the market because of its inability to launch its commercial service managed some two per cent of the market just after one month’s operation and closed the month of May with 468,508 subscribers.
As of the end of June, the second quarter, the figure has shot up to 990,566 subscribers.
Unfortunately, the company which started aggressively witnessed a decrease in its subscriber base from 1,613,688 in August to finish the third quarter with 1,610,434.
It however managed to maintain its market share with seven per cent.
