Ramadan: ADB donates to Muslim community

The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has presented 150 bags each of sugar and rice to the Muslim community in support of this year’s Ramadan.

A media release issued by the Bank in Accra said some of the items were presented to the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence.

The Deputy Managing Director of ADB, Alhaji Alhasaan Yakubu Tali, said the donation formed part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Muslim community.

“Associating ourselves with the holy month of Ramadan by donating food items and cash to the National Chief Imam, the Police Mosque and other key Muslim groups is an appreciation of the mutual beneficial relationship between the Bank and Muslims,” he said.

Alhaji Yakubu-Tali said the month of Ramadan represented a period where Muslims intensified the existing practice of alms giving, feeding of the poor and the needy, with the hope of Allah’s mercy and blessings.

“We appreciate the contributions of the Muslim Community towards the success of the bank and this donation will further strengthen the relationship formed over the years,” he said.

Appreciation

Receiving the items, Dr Sharubutu expressed his profound gratitude to the Bank for the kind gesture and prayed to the Almighty for blessings and more success stories for the bank.

He noted that there existed mutual co-existence between the Muslim Community and other religious groups.

He also urged all Muslims to observe and maintain peace throughout the Ramadan period.
