Among the guests at the event were the first clients of the credit firm as well as some of the first members of staff

Apart from messages of best wishes, a special cake was cut to commemorate the anniversary.

Also, a book about the entrepreneurial journey of Ms Quarshie was launched as part of the anniversary celebration.

Plans

In her remarks, Ms Quarshie said her outfit would, as part of its expansion strategy, move into other African countries and the real estate sector in future.

She said as part of the fifth-anniversary celebration, the company would also be embarking on several Corporate Social Responsibility projects including donations to needy segments of society and skills training seminars.

Book launch

The seven-chapter book, titled :"Born to Dare" details the inspirational, 'rags to riches' story of Ms Quarshie, who is now one of the female leaders in Ghana's finance industry.

It was authored by Ms Quarshie and the launch was performed by Apostle Daniel Clad who urged Christians to be guided by the gospel in their business dealings.

He urged Christians to be resilient and not lose their faith whenever they face challenges or make losses in business.

The first copy was purchased for $2,000.

Highlights

Some of the highlights of the book include how Ms Quarshie overcame being an average student to an excellent one; how she recovered after losing over $20,000 in a business transaction and her work in Ghana's finance industry.

Ms Quarshie also shared a chronological account of how she resigned from one of the reputable banks in Ghana to start Credence Micro Credit in 2017.

"Today is Credence Micro-Credit’s fifth anniversary and I think that it is worth celebrating and at the same time, sharing our experience with other people," she said in an interview on the sidelines of the book launch.

"Basically, I was inspired to write the book because of my humble background. I believe this book will serve as an inspiration to many people".
