Continental Tyre opens showroom in Accra

Continental Tyre, one of the leading tyre manufacturers in the world, is gradually boosting its presence in Ghana and the West African sub-region by establishing an ultramodern showroom in Accra.

The showroom was based on its ContiPartner concept, a policy which allows it to partner with an existing tyre retailer to market its product.

It was, therefore, established in partnership with Rainbow Motor Workshop and Engineering Limited.

Under the partnership, the showroom, owned by Rainbow Motor’s and located on the Graphic Road, received a facelift through new branding and product ranges.

At the launch of the showroom on Tuesday, the Managing Director of Continental Tyre Sub Saharan Africa, Mr Shaun Uys, said the showroom was part of the company’s strategy to expand its business in Ghana and the West African sub-region.

He said the company was poised to make its world trusted products available to drivers, transport owners and corporate institutions.

The ContiPartner concept, he explained, was based on a business model where the company creates a strong relationship with independent tyre dealers to market the company’s product to enhance their businesses and create sustainable growth.

Present at the ceremony were tyre dealers, automobile companies, members of the diplomatic corps, transport operators and personnel from many government agencies.

West Africa division

The German tyre manufacturer has already taken a giant step to spread its reach to West Africa as it established a West Africa division in April this year.

The division headquartered in Ghana is to enable the global tyre manufacturing giant to expand its distribution channels, the number of retail outlets and also target new business opportunities in other sectors.

Ghana, therefore, becomes the 3rd African country, after South Africa and Morocco, where the German tyre manufacturer has established an official legal entity.
