Consider ICT as value driver — Resourcery MD
The Managing Director (MD) of Resourcery Ghana, Mr Isaac Dankyi-Koranteng, has called on executives of companies and organisations in the country not to look at IT as playing the role of a cost centre, but rather that of a real value driver.

The MD of the information technology (IT) firm in the country, told the Daily Graphic in Accra that understanding would impel companies and institutions and their management to invest in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure to gain a competitive edge, even in challenging economic times, rather than resorting to cutting expenditure on IT to meet cost-cutting targets.
“There are a lot of things that companies can do with IT to improve on their efficiency and bring them more revenue, but most importantly to serve customers rightly. Most organisations, unfortunately, see IT as a cost centre, but it should be seen as a value driver; it can make a whole lot of difference,” Mr Dankyi-Koranteng said.
He was interacting with the Daily Graphic ahead of the company’s networking seminar dubbed: ‘Designed to Impact Ghana,’ scheduled for Accra on April 30 to explore revolutionary ICT solutions that enhance business performance and aid the attainment of goals.
About 40 decision makers from the public and private institutions in sectors such as banking and finance, oil and gas, tourism and hospitality, as well as large organisations that consume and store a lot of data, will attend the seminar.
“As an organisation with the mantra “Solutions, not just IT”, the one day business interactive session slated for Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Accra, will be dedicated to data centres which are still evolving in the country,” Mr Dankyi-Koranteng explained.
A company set up to provide a total ICT solutions such as network; business voice and video solutions; data security solutions as well as a range of business applications, Resourcery has partnerships with several original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Cisco, Oracle, Commscope, NetApp, IBM, Microsoft and HP.
The Resourcery Ghana Managing Director said there were international standards and solutions in setting up and managing data centres to suit the specification and budgets of organisations, adding that there would be a number of OEMs at the event to share knowledge and throw light on trends in the industry.
Resourcery Ghana, which is a subsidiary of the over 40-year-old Resourcery Plc of Nigeria, is also approaching the event from the premise that although a number of companies in the country already had data centres in place, they had observed a lot of pitfalls, as some organisations had not approached it the right way.
