Amenyo Setordzie is new MD of FirstBanC
FirstBanC Financial Services Ltd (FirstBanC) has appointed Mr Amenyo Setordzie as the Managing Director of the company.

His appointment took effect from October 1, 2016. A statement from the company said Mr Setordzie replaced Mr Samuel Asiedu, who moved to a different role within the First Group on September 30, 2016, after working passionately in the company since 2010.
Mr Setordzie, until his appointment, was the Executive Director of Strategic Debt Solutions Limited.
He previously worked with UMB Investment Holdings Limited (UMB-IHL) as the Chief Operation Officer.
Prior to joining UMB-IHL, he was the Chief Executive Officer of EGAS Capital Limited, in charge of the overall strategic and operational directions of the company.
His role also encompassed deal origination, execution, structured finance and corporate restructuring.
Other roles
Additionally, Mr Setordzie worked with African Management Services Company (AMSCO) in the Johannesburg Office, as a Project Officer and later as Senior Project Officer for about six years, where he was in charge of business development in South Africa, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. He worked with several companies located in this region.
He also worked with Agence Française de Développement/PROPARCO and Merchant Bank Ghana Limited as Investment Officer and Deputy Manager respectively.
Other institutions Mr Setordzie previously worked for included the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ernst and Young.
Profile
The statement indicated that Mr Setordzie is a chartered accountant and holds an MBA in Finance and BSc Administration from the University of Ghana.
He also holds a certificate in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis from John Deutsch International, Queen's University, Canada, and Professional Project Management from the George Washington University Business School.
