The TBSC, which promises to test the minds of students at the tertiary level, took off to a great start at TV3's Executive Theatre at Kanda in Accra.
It is being held on the theme: “Developing Business Minds”.

Schools which were present on the first day of the event included All Nations University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Development Studies, Ho Technical University Business School, University of Cape Coast, Ghana Technology University College, Accra Technical University College, Accra Institute of Technology and BlueCrest University College.

Ambiance

By 9 a.m. students from the various participating universities had trooped into the auditorium for the commencement of the competition, with most of them looking excited.

It was obvious that the students selected to represent their respective schools looked tensed yet expectant and confident about winning the competition.

A student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mr Epiphany Anaba, told the Graphic Business team that ''we're not losing this year. We are going to lift the name of our school high by winning this year's competition .''

Innovation

Addressing the parked hall before the start of the contest for the first day, the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Ato Afful, stressed the need for students to be well-versed in the digital media space in order to be well positioned in the global business world.

He said: ''Graphic is known to be in the business of printing newspapers but today it is no longer just a newspaper but a digital interface.''

He, therefore, advised students to get on an educative digital platform such as the Graphic NewsPlus App to learn from their business reports so as to improve on their academic performance.

Quiz master sets tone

The Quiz Master, Mr Alhassan Yusif Trawule, gave the contestants and his audience a mix of education and entertainment as participants were thrilled to a bit of humour during the heated competition.

Giving his remarks after the first competition between the UGBS and All Nations University, he stated: "I think we have started on a very good note and I believe that it will continue throughout the contest."
