After beefing up their squads and revising their notes, the elite female clubs are now ready to go all guns blazing when the National Women's League returns this weekend with the second round.

Police Ladies might have dominated the southern division in the first round, but they will be put to a stern test when they meet Soccer Intellectuals away.

Sitting just a point behind champions, Police, Hasaacas Ladies will open the second round at home against Lady Strikers.

Much will be expected of bottom-placed Ayola Ladies who will attempt to turn round their fortunes during a visit by Immigration Ladies.

Ayola reached the half-way mark of their league debut winless and goalless but are expected to improve their lot in the second round.

The battle for the top in the northern half appears a straight contest between Fabulous Ladies and Ashtown Ladies.

Both remain joint-top and will go head-to-head again at the Wesco Park this weekend after their previous game ended goalless.

Prisons Ladies will be away to Sharp Arrows, looking for another victory after their 7-0 rout over the latter in the first round, while Oforikrom Ladies also play away to Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
