PLB boss demands clubs’ flight schedules

Premier League Board (PLB) Chairman, Welbeck Abra-Appiah, has appealed to the nation’s three clubs in the CAF inter-club competition — Berekum Chelsea, Medeama SC and Ebusua Dwarfs — to furnish the PLB with its confirmed flight schedules ahead of their next continental games to reduce the frequent postponement of matches in the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.

“We pray that clubs will bear with us and be able to give us the proper schedules of their flights. In view of the fact that CAF has decided to play their matches with 7-day intervals, instead of 14 days in the past, it tells you that we are in tight corners as far as our football is concerned between now until the World Cup matches,” Abra-Appiah told Power 103.5FM Sports.

He added that “So, the clubs which are still in the continental competitions, should try and schedule their flights in a way that the days we have looked at for which they have to play the outstanding matches will be complied with and that they would return home immediately to honor such matches.”

The PLB, which is keen on meeting FIFA’s deadline by ending this term’s First Capital Plus Bank Premier League before May 18, rescheduled Berekum Chelsea’s outstanding domestic top flight clash against AshantiGold at the Golden City Park to  February 23, instead of February 24.

The two other matches involving Asante Kotoko and Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Stadium and Inter Allies versus Medeama SC at the Tema Park will also be honoured on tomorrow.
