The Immigration officer who is on a two-month training tour of the USA, emerged as the Best Female player during the monthly competition at Westchester and hopes to build on that achievement to become one of Ghana’s icons in the sport.

In a telephone interview with the Daily Graphic yesterday, the ping pong star said she had observed a tremendous improvement in her skill since she travelled to the USA and believed that would guide her as she prepares for another competition in the UK soon.

“We train with speed boards which is what most professionals use and that has really improved my style of play,” she said and noted that if Ghana could provide similar facilities to the table tennis players in the country, they could compete with any player on the globe.

Lynda said currently, Asia produced some of the best table tennis players in the world and that was because the facilities at their disposal were world class and their training regimen is structured such that the players did nothing except training constantly all day.

“The reason why the Asians perform better in international competition is because of how frequent they train and the number of training tours they undertake each year,” she said.
