The event, themed "19 Years of Financial Innovation and Excellence," saw a large turnout in Accra as participants took part in a seven-kilometre walk, which commenced after a lively aerobics session at the Zenith Heights head office in Ridge.
The route took participants through key landmarks in the city, including the Ridge Roundabout, Accra Financial Centre, and the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange, before returning to the Zenith Heights building.
Among the notable figures present were the Acting Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Adeoye Ifedayo, and the bank’s Board Chair, Mrs Freda Yahan Duplan.
Speaking to the press, Zenith Bank Ghana’s MD/CEO, Henry C. Onwuzurigbo, mentioned the importance of promoting healthy living in the country, noting that similar walks are being planned for all 16 regions of Ghana in the future.
"Health is wealth, as the saying goes, but many of us have sedentary lifestyles," Mr Onwuzurigbo remarked. "We even shut down our elevators for a week to prepare our staff for this event. Regular exercise is crucial for avoiding hidden health issues."
He also highlighted how communal activities like this not only encourage a healthier lifestyle but also foster networking among participants.
Mr Onwuzurigbo thanked the bank's loyal customers for their ongoing support, vowing to continue serving their best interests.
The annual event, which has become a highlight for staff and stakeholders, is expected to grow even bigger next year as Zenith Bank celebrates its 20th anniversary.
