What a comeback! Liverpool score four to go through to Champions League final

Liverpool have beaten Barcelona 4-0 in the second leg of their semi-final clash to go through to the Champions League final.

The Merseyside team started the match 3-0 down on aggregate and faced an uphill battle to reach the final.

But goals from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum saw Liverpool pull level by the 54th minute.

Origi took advantage of a lull in Barcelona's defence in the 79th minute to score his second goal, and his team's fourth, the winning goal of the match.

Liverpool will play the winner of tomorrow (Wednesday) night's semi-final between Ajax Amsterdam and Tottenham Hotspurs. The Dutch side are 1-0 ahead after the first leg in London.

Liverpool didn't have top goalscorer Mohammed Salah in their arsenal but his teammates Origi and Wijnaldum made up for his absence.

At the break, Liverpool were 1-0 up, and it was the introduction of Wijnaldum that helped pull them to victory.

He scored two goals in as many minutes after coming on in the second half, including one header to make it 3-3 on aggregate.

It's only the third time in the history of the European Cup that a team has come from three goals down in a semi-final first leg to win and progress to the final. The others are Panathinaikos in 1970-71 and Barcelona in 1985-86 - no team has done it in the Champions League era.
