VTTAG donates ITTF-standard table tennis equipment to Wioso Senior High School

The Veterans Table Tennis Association of Ghana (VTTAG) has donated modern, ITTF-standard table tennis equipment to Alma Mater Wioso Senior High School in the Eastern Region.

The donation, which included a professional-grade table tennis board, paddles, and balls, was made by lawyer Christopher King, President of VTTAG, who personally led the delegation to the school on June 30, 2026.

Addressing the gathering, King delivered a presentation on the historical origins of table tennis, its global impact, and the health and educational benefits associated with the sport.

"The stated mission of this beautifully equipped school is to provide free, high-quality, holistic education and hands-on agricultural training to equip secondary school students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset for successful livelihoods and resilient futures," King said.

"We at VTTAG are extremely excited to support this institution to use table tennis as a conduit to achieve these goals."

Mr Hakeem, a VTTAG coach and table tennis coach for the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, demonstrated basic techniques to the students and revealed scholarship opportunities available at KNUST for talented table tennis players, assuring the school that VTTAG would mentor and support students in pursuing higher education through the sport.

Ms Caroline Loden, a representative present at the event, observed a surge in passion for table tennis among the students.

"Out of a little flame, a mighty blaze can erupt," King declared. "VTTAG, the entire Alma Mater Wioso Senior High School community, and I have experienced the dawn. This is the dawn that every senior high school in Ghana must experience—a dawn VTTAG is committed to replicating nationally."
